Ik ben Jiska de Bruin.

Ik ben opgeleid als psychotherapeut en GZ psycholoog en werk met veel plezier met kinderen, jongeren, hun ouders en met volwassenen.

Na jaren in verschillende instellingen te hebben gewerkt heb ik er in 2014 voor gekozen om mijn eigen praktijk te beginnen. In mijn praktijk werk ik hybride. Dat wil zeggen voor een gedeelte van het jaar werk ik in de praktijk in Haarlem en een gedeelte zal ik online werken vanuit het buitenland.

Het meest interessante van mijn werk vind ik het tijdelijk meelopen op het levenspad gedurende een periode dat het minder goed gaat of dat er zo veel gebeurt in het leven, dat het pad even kwijt is.
Ik ga samen op zoek naar het juiste pad voor deze persoon op dit moment.
Ik kijk vanuit mijn expertise mee met en help met het (terug) vinden van de eigen veerkracht en kompas om weer verder te gaan.

Een belangrijk aandachtspunt is het aansluiten bij de vraag van de cliënt en bij zijn of haar belevingswereld. Daarnaast werk ik veel samen met andere therapeuten en praktijken in de regio zoals Raaklijn en het Lorentzhuis en met vaktherapeuten, haptonomen, fysiotherapeuten en huisartsen.

Ik heb ervaring in het werken met kinderen (en hun ouders), (jong) volwassenen en volwassenen.
Daarnaast ben ik gespecialiseerd in het werken met kinderen en jongeren en volwassenen (en hun ouders) met traumatische ervaringen, in de breedste zin van het woord.

Ik ben opgeleid als psycholoog aan de Universiteit Utrecht en daarna heb ik de opleiding tot Gezondheidszorgpsycholoog bij de RINO in Amsterdam en de opleiding tot Kinder- en jeugdpsychotherapeut bij de RINO in Utrecht afgerond. Daarnaast ben ik EMDR therapeut VEN ® (volwassenen & kinder- en jeugd) en opgenomen in het kwaliteitsregister van de NVP. Ik heb de basis en vervolgcursus schematherapie gedaan. Verder heb ik de basis- en vervolgopleiding energetisch systemisch werk gedaan bij Torxa in Haarlem.

Ook geef ik leertherapie en ben ik erkend leertherapeut bij de NVP.

I am a licensed psychotherapist and healthcare psychologist (GZ-psychologist), and I work with great dedication with children, adolescents, their parents, and adults.

After many years of working in various mental health institutions, I chose to start my own private practice in 2014. In my practice, I work in a hybrid format. This means that during part of the I will be seeing clients in my practice in Haarlem, and part of the time I will be working online from abroad.

What I find most meaningful in my work is the opportunity to walk alongside someone for a while — especially during times when life feels overwhelming or when someone has lost their way. Together, we search for the right path for that person in that moment. I use my expertise to help them reconnect with their inner strength and compass so they can move forward again.

An important focus in my work is connecting to the client’s questions and their personal perspective. I also collaborate closely with other therapists and practices in the region, such as Raaklijn and the Lorentzhuis, as well as with creative therapists, haptonomists, physiotherapists, and general practitioners.

I have experience working with children (and their parents), young adults, and adults. I am also specialized in working with children, adolescents, and adults (and their parents) who have experienced trauma — in the broadest sense of the word.

I completed my psychology degree at Utrecht University, followed by training as a healthcare psychologist at RINO Amsterdam and child & adolescent psychotherapist at RINO Utrecht. I am also a certified EMDR therapist (VEN®, both adult and child & adolescent), registered in the Dutch Association for Psychotherapy’s quality register. I have completed both the basic and advanced courses in Schema Therapy. Additionally, I have completed the basic and advanced training in energetic systemic work at Torxa in Haarlem.

I also provide individual training therapy and am a certified training therapist recognized by the Dutch Association for Psychotherapy (NVP).
